In Japan, ``offshore development,'' which utilizes overseas engineers for development, is attracting attention for reasons such as saving on labor costs and the shortage of IT human resources. Offshore is a word that refers to ``overseas,'' meaning off the shore. In Japan, Asian countries are generally chosen as the destination for orders due to their low labor costs.

Nearshore development refers to developing in regional cities where labor costs are lower than in metropolitan areas. Because we can develop in the same culture and language, we can maintain high quality. Offshore development is advantageous when comparing costs, but since it involves outsourcing to overseas engineers, the client needs to have firm control over the process.

There is no movement in the three main countries (China, India, and Vietnam) as offshore destinations for Japanese companies. China still ranks first by an overwhelming margin, but due to rising labor costs and country risks due to its popularity, Vietnam ranks first in terms of attention based on inquiries. It is said that.

Country risk is the degree of risk that a country's political, economic, or environmental changes may cause damage to business partners or business. Various factors are included, such as the safety of products manufactured in a country and political turmoil caused by demonstrations.

First of all, labor costs are lower than in China and India, which is the key to cost reduction, which is the main purpose of offshore development. Another benefit is that there are fewer concerns due to the country's pro-Japanese, hardworking national character and stable economic growth. In recent years, an increasing number of Japanese companies are choosing Vietnam as their offshore destination for these reasons.

At Focus Systems, we have worked hard to launch Vietnam Offshore in order to provide our customers with high-quality, low-cost development. By actively disseminating our skills and know-how and providing education, we have built a system that allows both Japan and Vietnam to rely on us with confidence. While there are many offshore companies, Focus Systems supports development sites with its unique know-how and technology and has received high praise.

In development, the ability to respond to sudden changes in specifications and modifications has a large impact on development speed. At Focus Systems, we have a system that allows us to handle "Agile development," which involves frequent repetition of development and testing, so we were able to respond quickly and accurately to sudden changes.
*Agile development: A development method that involves frequent repetition of development and testing in order to respond flexibly to changes in needs.

Utilizing our past know-how, we have set up a system that takes into account the characteristics of offshore so that we can carry out intensive development. As a result, development progressed approximately twice as fast as in Japan. In addition, in order to give reliable instructions, the person in charge from the Japanese side will travel to the site and directly manage the instructions and progress. We achieved high quality in both speed and quality.

By sharing the know-how gained through past development, we have reduced unnecessary work and made speedy development possible. Additionally, when there were many overlapping tasks, the director managed the progress and gave clear instructions, allowing for smooth delivery.

At Focus Systems, rather than leaving projects to local staff, our Japanese director travels to Vietnam before the project begins, gives direct instructions, and conducts quality checks midway through the project. We also have local interpreters who can handle technical content, so we work hard to avoid miscommunication.

Our partner company, Individual Systems Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as IVS), conducts Japanese language classes for selected levels. Additionally, a Japanese SE is stationed full-time to provide support and facilitate communication.

Like China, the time difference between Vietnam and Japan is about 2 hours. Therefore, it is possible to give instructions to the local area almost in the same way as in Japan time. In addition, our director, who manages the entire project across various projects, will suggest ways to meet customer requests while maintaining quality.

The staff contracted to the lab becomes a dedicated team, making it easier to accumulate know-how and thereby speeding up development. Also, unlike regular contracts where different SEs may be in charge of each project, in the case of a laboratory, the same human resources can be secured for a certain period of time, resulting in higher quality.

Under normal contract contracts, if additional development occurs after the initial development is completed, human resources must be secured each time. However, in the case of laboratory-type development, this is not necessary. Therefore, we are able to flexibly respond to sudden revisions or changes in specifications by setting up a system within the team.

With the aim of growing together through projects,
Focus Systems has a technical partnership with IVS.
Therefore, we are familiar with the contents of the projects handled by Focus Systems,
By working together, we are able to provide even higher quality proposals.

As the oldest Japanese offshore company in Vietnam, we have accumulated a wealth of experience over the past 14 years. By adding Focus Systems' experience and trust, we are now able to deliver even more accurate project performance. We will continue to pursue high quality and customer satisfaction.

IVS has a rich track record and strong teamwork to meet the needs of our customers. We also have Japanese engineers who have made their mark in Japan, and we work hard to capture the unique subtleties of system development while achieving quality that is close to the same level as in Japan.

At the development site, daily actual man-hours are recorded in detail, analyzed and given feedback under the leadership of the quality control team, and then shared with each team within the laboratory. This not only improves the skills of the entire team, but also improves quality.
