Focus Systems signs business partnership agreement with ESRI Japan - Developing business utilizing ArcGIS, the world's leading GIS (geographic information system) platform -

Focus Systems Corporation(Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Keiichi Mori; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") has signed a business partnership agreement with ESRI Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Itaru Yamaguchi; hereinafter referred to as "ESRI Japan"), which provides the GIS (Geographic Information System) platform "ArcGIS" (hereinafter referred to as "the product"), which has the world's top market share*1. Through this agreement, the Company will work to expand its GIS-based business and develop it into one that contributes to national resilience*2 and solving social issues.

Partnership agreement led to proven GIS utilization

"Our company has participated in government projects using ESRI Japan's products, completing highly challenging modifications in a short period of time, and has been involved in numerous other projects using the product. In the process, we have gained a real sense of the product's versatility and marketability, and have built up solid technical capabilities and reliability, which led to the signing of this contract."

GIS is a technology that uses geographical location as a clue to comprehensively manage, process, and visually display data containing location-related information (spatial data), enabling advanced analysis and rapid decision-making. It is used in a wide range of fields, including urban planning, disaster management, transportation planning, logistics, marketing, environmental management, and education.

Purpose of the contract

1. Expanding customer base

Through collaboration with ESRI Japan's extensive customer network and partners, we will promote the development of new areas with an eye on local governments and private companies.

2. Strengthening corporate value with spatial information technology

As technological innovation accelerates, we will acquire GIS (geographic information system) technology, resell software licenses, and utilize the latest technology and information provided by ESRI Japan to increase our corporate value, differentiate ourselves from our competitors, and strengthen our long-term competitiveness.

Future initiatives and prospects

We will actively work to solve social issues such as national resilience, disaster response, and urban planning, while also promoting the establishment of knowledge about the product, the establishment of systems, the improvement of technical capabilities, and the development of human resources. We will also expand our proposals to government agencies, local governments, and private companies, aiming to expand our business and create social value with GIS as a new pillar of our business.
